What kitchen jobs do I cover?
Most of the kitchens I'm called out to in Suffolk don't need ripping out — they need attention. The order I work in matters: walls and floors made good first, then carcass run, then services moved, then worktops, splashbacks and finishing trim. Doing it in that order keeps everything plumb, square and easy to maintain later.
I'll happily co-ordinate with your gas-safe engineer for the hob and your electrician for the hood and any new circuits, and I have working relationships with reliable Suffolk-based tradespeople if you don't already. The aim is one project, one point of contact, one clear timeline — not three van-loads of strangers leaving you to chase the bits in the middle.
Worktops, sinks and small repairs that change everything
A new worktop and a single resealed silicone joint can transform a kitchen for surprisingly little money. Laminate worktops in particular have improved enormously: woodgrains, marble effects and matt stone finishes look excellent, take heat and water well, and can be fitted in a day. Solid timber tops — oak, walnut, beech — need a bit more aftercare but oil up beautifully and age gracefully in a Suffolk farmhouse or cottage kitchen.
I also fit and re-bed sinks (inset, undermount and Belfast), replace taps and isolator valves, sort out leaking waste traps, fix or replace the U-bend that's been weeping into the cupboard for months, and re-tile splashbacks. If a tile has popped because of damp behind it I'll dig back to the cause first — covering wet plaster with a fresh tile only buys you about six months of looking the other way.

Either works. Most clients buy from Howdens, Wickes, B&Q or DIY Kitchens because the prices are fair and lead times are short. I'm happy to advise on a layout before you order to make sure everything fits.
Will you remove and dispose of my old kitchen?
Yes. I'll strip out the old units, worktops and appliances and take everything to a licensed transfer station. The disposal cost is itemised separately on your quote so there are no surprises.
How long does a small repair job take?
Most cabinet door, drawer or hinge repairs are done within an hour. A worktop change is usually a single day. A full reface is typically two to three days depending on the number of doors.
Are you insured for kitchen work?
Yes, I carry public liability insurance and can email a copy of the certificate before any work starts. I also work alongside Gas Safe and NICEIC-registered tradespeople for any gas or electrical alterations.
